Accountability Friday – Reward day

When I talk about accountability, I always mention rewarding yourself in passing but it is so important that I am devoting today’s post to it.

We all to some extent tend to focus more on what we are not doing or not succeeding in instead of what is working in our life. But it is so important to also focus on what is going right. We want to train our mind to seek out success rather than failure.

Keep a list of all your accomplishments for the week. Include every area of your life – if you cook a healthy and tasty meal then note that.If you have managed to blog to your schedule, include that, also if you are trying to improve your health note down any exercise you have done. By the end of the week bask in your accomplishments. Set uo a reward system for yourself – I rather like writing down rewards on slips of paper and then randomly choosing one every Friday. Think hard about your rewards – they must be guilt free to really feel like rewards – if eating something fattening carries with it some bad feelings, then that probably won’t be the best choice – but if you can train your mind to really enjoy the occasional treat then it could be a great option. Schedule the time for your reward just as you would schedule an important appointment.

Have fun!
